Research Interests:

       I focus on intelligent computation and trustable computing. More specifically, I concentrate on the following topic:

  • heuristic search: backbone guided search

  • data mining/machine learning: clustering, classification

  • software test: search-based/learning-based software test

Brief Biography:

        I graduated from Special Class for Gifted Young, University of Science & Technology of China in 1999 (BA) and Dept of Computer Science, USTC in 2004 (PhD). Since July, 2004, I joined School of Software, Dalian University of Technology. I have published some referred papers on Science in China, Chinese Science Bulletin, Chinese Journal of Computers, Journal of Software and  international conferences.

 

 

Requirements for Students:

      Some of students joined well known enterprises, including Huawei, ZTE, Panasonic, etc. Some other chose to continue their oversea study, including Waterloo Univ, Virginia Tech, Univ of Texas at Dallas.          

     Every year, I will enroll 2 Master students. If you're interested in my research area, please firstly consider the following questions:

  • Do you tend to concentrate on programming or reading foreign technical documents for a long time?

  • Can you freely read documents written in English?

  • Are you curious about the unknown world?

  • Do you wish to conduct some fundamental research or investigation?

     If most answers to those questions above is YES, maybe you is a good candidate for my team. Due to the limited positions in our team, please contact me at least 1/2 year before the Master Recommendation. A selection program will be set up to decide the final candidate.

    What CAN I do for you?  

  • At least 1 chance to attend conferences in China (Master student), 1 chance to attend oversea conferences (limited to our conference list)

  • A private work station and PC

  • A weekly personal meeting with me

  • An amount of funds for books, computer arming

  • Discussion chances with my academic friends over the world
